The Standard Appointment Checklist

Have you ever walked into your room and was completely unprepared for the appointment? Today we cover a Standard Appointment Checklist so you never feel unprepared.

I would often be so happy about the family being here for their adjustment, I would just pick their file up and walk straight into the room.

Sometimes I would walk in and say hello and completely forget the mother’s or father’s name. Or which child was which.

I am not someone with a photographic memory. So I need to be more prepared for each visit.

I found this was even more important when I was looking after other chiropractor’s patients, where I was meeting several new people all at once.

Do you ever find yourself in this situation?

Here is the checklist to use in your head before you walk in and say hello!

1.         Read folder or chart before you start your shift

2.         Be sure to clearly mark the parents’ names on the card

3.         If the child has a sibling of a similar age, be sure to have a quick check on the card so you know which child is which.

4.         Use the family’s names during the consultation

How do you get prepared for a shift?
